At home for a day; I leave for Ohio tomorrow morning. Once I'm settled on campus, I'll make a big post about the rest of my time in Wyoming. For now, here's a bit of room dec I made for smaragdina and my dorm room. :)

ugh I suck at fight scenes why is the last chapter of Couper one big fight scene. BAD DECISIONS. I MAKE THEM.

But it should be done and posted by next Friday. I will be so happy to finally be done with it. I'm really happy with how it's turned out, but wow the magic's gone. XD;

Reason for not finishing: I COULDN'T DO IT. It was originally a hilarious What If with smaragdina concerning religious ecstasy and trance states and how the Maker was probably a pretty cool guy but would never let another person touch Andraste, so she'd just have to do all the touching...

But I suck at writing crackfic. :( So you only get the serious opening (which quotes heavily from the Chant) and a bit of where things started to get weird.

Requisite paper-writing procrastination post, GO:

ASNAWOH seems to finally be cooperating. Ch. 1 received a scene rewrite and Ch. 2 had lots of little changes throughout the whole (over 8000 words) thing that completely changed the tone and flipped an entire relationship without any of the dialogue actually changing. Ch. 4 is finished, at least in rough form! Exciting! I have through Ch. 7 plotted, and oh my god this fic is long and nobody is going to read it. SO EXCELLENT.

On the note of fic, though, and aforementioned paper-writing, I'm entering hell-three-weeks. Semester ends May 14th, and before that, I have the ten page paper I'm working on now, two 6-8 page papers that I haven't started, a slide quiz, two in-class finals, a take-home final, and a few presentations. Plus readings and normal homework, of course! So while fic-writing seems to be chugging along whether I want it to or not (seriously, this is ridiculous, just ask smaragdina), fic posting is going to drop off again. It doesn't help that I've decided to get a lot more of ASNAWOH up before I post any more of it, and that's the fic that's taking up all of my mind.

It may have a Jesus Christ Superstar shout out in it.

I should be working on Ch. 4 of ASNAWOH (or, even better, doing more background reading for the ten page paper I'll be writing tomorrow). But instead, I'm sleepily LJ posting! Of course!

Big fun happy time news: smaragdina and I, through a convoluted series of events, will be rooming together next year! Exciting! Nerdy! Requiring that we get up before 8 AM tomorrow!

Part 1 of my Cauth/Zev ridiculous frolic should be going up soon, possibly before the weekend is out. It needs a title, though. :< I'm woefully uninspired as far as titles go, these days.

ASNAWOH is finished through Ch. 3 (finally), but I still want a few more chapters written before I start putting stuff up. But! Ch. 4 is where Shit Gets Real (the first time), so hopefully I'll be writing fast and furious soon.

(If not, there's always The Nevarran Mummy Incident to keep me busy... and a certain gift!fic for smaragdina. Bwahaha.)

So you know how, about a month ago, I was saying how ME2 had killed my urge to write DA fic? I'm starting to think I need to dose myself with another playthrough of ME2, because I have too much shit to write and not enough time to write it in. My two and a half weeks at home between end of the semester and when I move in with David for the summer will be, uh. Busy. Intense? Probably porny. (Can you believe there hasn't been more than a hand touch in ASNAWOH so far? Really! Eventually I'll post it, for proof!)

I seriously can't get over how amazing Mass Effect 2 is. I just finished my first playthrough last night (with a balanced-leaning-Renegade femShep), and I immediately started a full-Renegade femShep playthrough. I've learned all the memes. I've thought of fic ideas (that I doubt I'll ever write). I've stared lovingly at my Shep and wished I could be even a tenth that badass.

This game, people.

I am officially more excited for ME3 than I am for DA2.

(Also, ME2 has taken away much of my Dragon Age obsession. I have to fics in progress, and once those are done, I'm not sure I'll write anything else. So, expect a Cauthrien/Zevran post-Origins fic and a Blood Mage/Templar post-Origins fic, and maaaaybe, if I get a better idea for a plot, a Cauthrien/Nathaniel post-Awakening fic. Depending on how much DA2!Anders inspires me, there also might be more Amell fic, buuuut I'm not too hopeful on that front.)

Following in the growingly large tradition of "Cai inventing supplemental material for canon" (which started when I somehow created the memory of a codex entry in DA that said the Chasind Wilders practiced mortuary cannibalism), I just had a dream that they released expanded backstory for the blood mage you can rescue (and that I'm basing my character Terea off of) in the mage's tower questline. None of it made ANY sense in context, and I couldn't write down any of her narration, which was sad. But she was telling it to a templar while she worked in a garden.

Which, of course, is where she's working right now in ASNAWOH. XD (Although this templar had blonde hair, and Andam's is black. GET IT RIGHT, SUBCONSCIOUS!)
