Adele updates! I'm finished with her blouse and her skirt (except for the embroidery). I'm considering starting on her vest today, since once that's done, she's wearable. :) I should do more of these easier costumes.

N.B.: Photobooth mirrors images, so the buttons ARE on the right side. :)

I think I should get some spray-on starch to make my sleeves puff a bit more at the top, but other than that, I'm quite happy with it!

I hear ya on the easier costumes. :D It's really nice to take a breather. whew~

P.S. If you ever feel like cosplaying Wild Arms 5 again, I'd be more than happy to make Avril since I've got a feel for it now. :3

I'll think about it! :) Carol (Is that her name? It's been so long o.o) is still so cute!

You could also stuff em' to make them happy and perky!

I could, but that just conjures up mental images of shoulder pads. XD They almost stay up on their own already, so I think some clever ironing and starching will do that job well enough.

Thanks! I'm worried about the fit of the skirt, so the yoke will be taken in a bit this coming week so it sits more at my waist than at my hips. :) But I'm really proud of the blouse, since I didn't use a pattern.

Oooooooooo *glitter* That is impressive.

Shirts/blouses/sleeved tops in general give me fits - you'll note that almost all of my recent cosplay involves dress tops that I can raid my closet for, and on the older stuff, I had a lot of help. Either that or a shirt was raided for the top (Balthier....). Last time I tried to make one, it was a disaster...

I may have to pick your brain for ideas, since two of my potential cosplays for next year (or even as early as AUSA) involve blouses or shirt-type tops: Fujiwara no Mokou (http://touhou.wikia.com/wiki/Huziwara_no_Mokou) or Youmu Konpaku (http://touhou.wikia.com/wiki/Youmu_Konpaku), as well as Mana Khemia's Roxis, who is a definite.

Blouses aren't too hard, I find, except for the getting a good fit part. That I usually use a pattern for, then fiddle with sleeve widths and gathering to get what I want. With Adele, since she's wearing a vest, the blouse didn't have to fit PERFECTLY. :)

I find blouses are only difficult in the fitting-for-the-female-chest department. I looooove me some darts and am able to just eyeball them now. Sleeves are pretty easy to get down once you realize how they work.

looks nice

If the skirt sits a little high, is that a problem? The top gets covered by the vest anyway.

It wouldn't be, except that it's sitting low, which is why I'm taking in the waist. XD
