Epic Weekend!

So, this past week has been AMAZING. WITH A TOPPING OF EPIC. Ahem. I'll do my best to summarize, starting with last Friday.



Friday: Took the train out to see liu_xing. We had yummy pesto and watched Project Runway. Fairly calm day.

Saturday: Steampunk picnic! We spent all day cooking before everybody arrived and spent the rest of the day frolicking with mlle_violet and carawen. It was a ton of fun and after the picnic, liu_xing and I got sushi. And wore the same shirt. Without planning it. XD

Sunday: Day with Miles! liu_xing went with us and we had delicious Indian food. We also got to run around two street fairs and Kinokuniya bookstore. I displayed a rather large propensity for spoonerisms - instead of "soap dispenser," for instance, I said "spence desoaper". Miles promptly took that and turned it into a story and theme song. Also, I managed to get a Gabranth figure! After Miles went home, liu_xing and I had leftover pesto and watched Voyager and planned our grand project.

Monday: liu_xing took me out to High Tea at Alice's Teacup for my birthday. Afterwards, we went to the fashion district and went to Mood and a few other stores. I found the perfect lace fabric for the overlay I need on Evelyn's dress, too! The night was a bit strained as her father came home (we all got Chinese take-out) and was very focused on how they were leaving the next day (long story, but he basically kicked me out and liu_xing wasn't happy about it, but it worked out fine). But it ended on a good note - happy fun talk late at night!

Tuesday: My friend Daisy picked me up from liu_xing's house in the morning and we went with her friends to Chinatown. We had lots of bubble tea and snacks. I bought a lot of phone charms at the Elizabeth Center!

Wednesday: On Wednesday we all got Korean barbeque - as much as we could eat. I ate far too much. I also got lots of Asian snacks as payment for my first somewhat-official live-modeling job. So I modeled that night and it was amazingly fun!

Thursday: Daisy took me to the trainstation in the afternoon (after a day of lazing around), where I met Cate and had a lovely train ride (on time!) to Baltimore. When we got there, my dad gave Cate a lift to the convention center, where I went with my step-sister and her friends to get our badges. I also got to see Evelyn's body! IT IS SO PRETTY AND I LOVE THE SIZE AND YES. MUST FIT CLOTHING TO HER AND GET HER OFF TO wannaseemymask!! ... Ahem. I then went to the Hyatt, met two of my seven awesome roomies, changed into Eliza (ugh), and went down to the fountains by the skywalk to do an AWESOME photoshoot with epiic. After that, I came back to the room, changed, and sat around with my roomies and talked for an hour or two.

Friday: I got dressed up in Eliza early and waddled down to the convention center. Only two people recognized me... BUT being in a Baroque cosplay had one very good up-side. I hadn't been able to check if there was going to be an Atlus photoshoot (there wasn't), so I ended up asking a certain Jerry about it. I never really left after that. XD I also found out that he was great friends with mithrigil, who I knew of through mariagoner... and am now on the road, hopefully, to being a good friend of hers (and everybody else in their circle)! By the time Jerry and I reached Case Closed, we ended up not, ah, watching it. :) I ended up being his photo-taker at the P3 shoots that day - he was in Akihiko all day. I also worked at Timeless Trends for about an hour and a half that day. We later went up to Tir Na Nog to get dinner and sort of lazed about all day. I changed into Steampunk halfway through and everybody loved it. :)

Saturday: Barely slept the night before and kind of forgot that breakfast existed. I wore Lenna all day and worked for Timeless Trends for four or so hours. I was paid in a corset. :) Jerry was dressed as the Demi-Fiend from Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturnes WHICH I STILL NEED TO GET AHOLD OF- ahem. Anyway. Poor boy was covered in latex paint. :/ After the all-Megaten shoot, we managed to get him out of it and into his Caeser Silverburg (did I spell that right?) costume and we went off to dinner again. ... yeah, he wasn't happy with me not eating all day. Anyway, after dinner I changed into normal clothing and we just bummed around again.

Sunday: Oh, look, it's today! XD Well, this morning I got dressed in Steampunk again (and got TONS of pictures taken - it was a bit weird! EBK even gave me his number the day before so that I could tell him when I was in Steampunk). I met up with Jerry after I got my stuff in the car (dad picked up my things when he dropped step-sister and the others this morning) and I went to go pick up my payment. Afterwards, we hung out for... pretty much the rest of the day with mithrigil and co. :) It was AMAZING. But then Jerry had to go to Closing Ceremonies to get the date for next Otakon... mithrigil, her girl (I want your LJ naaame! XD), Jerry, and I may be rooming together if everything went as planned. I'm still waiting for word!

Basically, epic week was epic, but EPIC WEEKEND WAS BEYOND EPIC. ♥ Roomies were awesome, con-friends were awesome, EVERYTHING WAS AWESOME. I cannot wait for plans for other cons to get under way!

Yeah, sorry about that! I fully intended to be REALLY SOCIAL this Otakon. I guess I... did, but with only one person XD;

I usually fail, too, but apparently- I DID NOT FAIL THIS TIME. In fact, I ended up not seeing a LOT of people I had wanted to meet up with.

I was... distracted. :)
