The fact that it's a blend of modern and historical fashion, for one. ... Kind of the definition, there. Plus there are subtle touches of gears and clocks and stuff. *shrugs*

Not everybody can be an airship pirate or an inventor :P We're on the subtle side of steampunk. (If the community can consider pretty much plain Neo-Victorian to be steampunk, we're pretty firmly in steampunk-style XD)
