serindranaTo those who responded about the sewing machine: Thank you! I really meant where should I buy a prom dress, but as that point no longer matters (see later), I appreciate the sewing machine advice. I'm still going to try and get my trusty old Singer fixed, first, but if all else fails, I'll save up. ^^
As for the dress:
Found a very pretty nude-colored, drapy, flowy, Grecian-inspired gown. I'm not used to that color against my skin, but everybody who saw it LOVED it on me, and the only thing I was iffy on was color. Since that seems to be a matter of being more used to something else (I usually wear richer or darker colors, so the main contrast is my skin, whereas with this dress, it's my hair), I was willing to go for it. It's very comfy and flattering, and I'll be sure to post pictures. :D
I also got called into work today (which caused part of my decision to say, "Screw the prom dress I'm BUYING one!") for six hours and will be working on Thursday for eight and a half. While I'm very glad to be getting more hours, oooooy. XD I WOULD HAVE LIKED MORE WARNING. Still working Saturday (morning after prom), too. Wooooo.
