New Skirt and APs.
May. 5th, 2008 07:17 pmJust took my first AP today. I think I did pretty well! One down, four to go.
Also, I finished my second skirt today:

Hand-picked zipper and fastener~

Since this wasn't a knit like the other fabric, and because I sucked sewing this up with equal fabric on each side of the seam, I couldn't do the flat-felling as nicely as I wanted to. But it will still work! Also, though it's not in the picture, I had to triple-fold a section of the hem because, once I'd double-folded and hemmed, I realized that a part was... in the wrong shape. XD It bowed out. So I folded it up and sewed it in place.

Inner facing, and this time, I GOT IT ALL RIGHT. :D
So, you can sort of see where all the pieces of thread I need to clip are... but overall, I'm far happier with this skirt than the other. :3 I fixed the problems, and it's now hanging like I wanted it to. Now that I have the shape down, time to get creative with trimmings... I have two other pieces of skirt fabric just waiting in the other room!
It's funny, today while I was wearing it and every time I looked in the mirror, I was really critical about it... but now, seeing it as a whole with me in it (despite my rather unflattering tank top XD BUT IT'S COMFY), I'm very happy with it!
Also, I have tons of awesome fabrics left over... I want to make a bag for Evelyn using them. But what sort of bag...
